This position's main focus is to ensure all needed diets are prepped and ready for use. This includes making formula for our young animals, chopping fruits and vegetables, hard boiling eggs, sifting/feeding our mealworms, restocking our dry food storage bins, restocking and organizing the Diet Prep Room cabinets, and ensuring the Diet Prep Room is both clean and stocked with knives & cutting boards. Please wear pants, you NWR volunteer shirt, and closed toed shoes. ***If you sign up for an 8am shift, you will be meeting staff at the back door PRECISELY at 8am. If you are not signed up by 6am sharp the day of the shift, staff will NOT know you are coming and will NOT check the back door. You would then need to wait at the back door until someone sees you and opens it for you, which is not guaranteed, or wait until our front lobby doors open.***
Ensuring all necessary diets are prepped and ready to be fed out. Types of diets may vary day-to-day based on the animals we have in care.

This position required the use of knives, as well as possible exposure to scalding/boiling water. Please email our Volunteer Coordinator if you have any food allergies or safety concerns prior to signing up for this volunteer position. Pants and close toed shoes are required.
