Cleaning Specialist

Nebraska Wildlife Rehab, Inc.

This position focuses on the various aspects of cleaning that is needed around our center on a daily basis. This includes laundry, washing dishes, washing crates/enclosures, sweeping and mopping floors, and sanitizing door handles/doors/frequently touched hardware and surfaces. ***If you sign up for an 8am shift, you will be meeting staff at the back door PRECISELY at 8am. If you are not signed up by 6am sharp the day of the shift, staff will NOT know you are coming and will NOT check the back door. You would then need to wait at the back door until someone sees you and opens it for you, which is not guaranteed, or wait until our front lobby doors open.*** You do not have to preform all the above tasks. For example, if you would like to come in and only do laundry, that is completely fine. This position is scheduled in shorter 2 hour shifts. If you would like to do a regularly scheduled longer shift or a shift with different start/end times than listed, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

9777 M street Omaha, NE 68127 United States

Our center goes through hundreds of dishes and linens on a daily basis, and the center would come to a grinding halt if we ever ran out of dishes for our patient's food and water or linens for our patient's enclosures and bedding. This is a crucial role at Nebraska Wildlife Rehab. *Please contact volunteer@nebraskawildliferehab.org if you would like to receive the training class for this role.

Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@nebraskawildliferehab.org if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this volunteer position. If you are a long-time existing volunteer, there is a good chance you already know how to do the basic cleaning tasks at the center. So please just send me an email and I'll get you the credential needed to sign up for these shifts.

Jeans/khakis and closed toe/closed heeled shoes are required. Please wear your Nebraska Wildlife Rehab Volunteer T-shirt. This position requires exposure to various cleaning agents such as Bleach and Rescue Disinfectant (hydrogen peroxide). Dishwashing gloves will be available for use.

Please email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@nebraskawildliferehab.org if you are unable to come to a scheduled shift.
